I watch Will walk away with that asshole from the library. I will her to turn around and look at me, but she never does. Will's little friend steps in front of my field of vision, but just looking at her, I can tell her smile is fake. She doesn't like me.

"We ready to go?" she says brightly.

Don't do it, I tell myself. It's better if I just keep my mouth shut and not ask, but in the next moment, my conscience is thrown out the window with a firm fuck that. "Where is she going?" I demand, glaring down at the chick before me.

"Who?" The chick—Lana, I remind myself—blinks up at me. Does she think I'm fucking stupid?

I glare at her. "You damn well know who," I grit out. "Where the hell is Willow going, and who the fuck is that guy?"

Lana puts a finger to her chin and tilts her head while arching a brow. "I don't know that it's any of your business," she says steadily, and I have to admit, she's got some serious lady balls to be able to look me in the face and deny me the information I want.

I take a step towards her as fury rises, but before I can say anything more, Tanner steps in the way and puts a restraining hand on my shoulder. "Actually," Tanner says, "I think maybe it'd be a better idea if we go separately after all."

"If you need a ride, Tanner," Lana replies. "You're always welcome. Ryan can go home, though. He seems a little stiff."

I reach up and cup Tanner's wrist above where he's got ahold of my shoulder. "Keep a leash on your bitch, Striker," I growl.

Tanner's hand grows firm, and his head snaps to me. "I respect you, Ryan," he says slowly, calmly, "but call her a bitch again, and we'll have a problem."

"We've already got one," I sneer, shoving him off of me and taking a step away. "Take her up on her offer, though. Hope the pussy is worth it."

I don't give him a chance to say anything else as I turn and walk away, my blood boiling in my veins. I haven't been this fucking angry in ... a long damn time. Despite the beating I just took on the field and the fact that my muscles are bunched up tighter than a nun's pussy, I want nothing more than to pound my fist into some asshole's face—preferably the little shithead that had practically skipped off with Willow.

Does he think that giving her one ride will open the door? No. He's got no chance. She doesn't want him. She'll never want a guy like him. I'm the one she wants.

I freeze as I reach my car. What the hell did I just think? I'm the one she wants? No. I already decided a long time ago that I wouldn't do this to her. But even as I remind myself, I can't help but recognize the cruel jealousy that whips through me and curls around my throat strangling me.
